Baltadapt Action Plan. Recommended actions and proposed guidelines for climate change adaptation in the Baltic Sea Region

Description

The overriding goal of the Action Plan (AP) is to promote the implementation of the Climate Change Adaptation Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (BALTADAPT strategy) and to specify priority activities for the macro-region in the field of adaptation to climate change impacts. The specific objective of the AP is to reinforce the actors’ capacity for action at all relevant levels and their ability to provide for themselves – often designated as ‘adaptive capacity’. This starts with increasing the knowledge base and improving the exchange of information and continues with mainstreaming climate change adaptation in other policy areas. This moreover includes cooperation activities among all actors in the Baltic Sea Region (BSR). Special attention is put on actions in the four sectors: Infrastructure, Tourism, Food supply and Biodiversity. Finally, also an approach on financing climate change adaptation in the BSR is presented.
