IPCC Fifth Assessment Report, WGII Chapter 6: Ocean Systems (2014)

Description

This is the chapter on ocean systems in the IPCC 5th Assessment Report. It  synthesizes the scientific knowledge on past and future physical and chemical changes in the ocean and on their impacts on ecosystems and human activities, including adaptation options and limitations.

More specificly, changes in physical and chemical variables, the sensitivity of ocean ecosystems to climate change, the impacts from organisms to ecosystems, the impacts on ecosysem services as well as management-related adaptations and risks are described.

A documentation of projections of future climate changes and key uncertainties are included based on the use of models. A FAQ sectkon on the importance of impacts on the ocean is included.
