Adriadapt web platform: a resilience and adaptation information platform for Adriatic cities and towns
The EU Interreg Project ADRIADAPT has come to an end. The Adriadapt multilingual web platform now acts as a support tool for each municipality in the Adriatic region offering solutions to address predicted impacts in this area, and as a guide for planning and implementing resilience and adaptation plans.

Advisory bodies can reinforce the role of science in climate policy, including adaptation
Efforts in tackling climate change at national level across Europe can be made more effective by robust governance frameworks as well as well-functioning, well-resourced advisory bodies. An EEA briefing has analysed the institutional settings for policy-making on mitigation at the national level in Europe, the role played by advisory bodies and their influence on policy decisions. Although the focus of the analysis was predominantly mitigation, some advisory bodies were found to focus on adaptation as well.

European Commission proposes new strategy to protect and restore EU forests
With the adoption of the New EU Forest Strategy for 2030, a flagship initiative of the European Green Deal that builds on the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, the EU is proposing a new strategy that contributes to the ‘Fitfor55’ package of measures proposed to achieve greenhouse gas emission reductions. Forests are a natural ally in adapting to and fighting against climate change and biodiversity loss, and will play a vital role in making Europe the first climate neutral continent by 2050.

Greece’ s climate projections online available
The EU funded LIFE-IP AdaptInGR project has produced new climate projections for Greece to further boost mainstreaming of adaptation across policies and projects. High resolution GIS maps for 22 climate indices have been produced for three greenhouse gas emissions scenarios and for two future periods (2031-2060, 2071-2100). The maps are accessible through the GIS Mapsportal of the Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy.

Official governmental reporting on national adaptation actions per country with more detailed information now online
The Climate-ADAPT country profiles were previously updated in 2019. The information was based on reporting according to the EU ‘Monitoring Mechanism Regulation’. The current country profiles display information on national adaptation actions reported by EU member states under Regulation (EU) 2018/1999 on the Governance of the Energy Union and Climate Action. Now, comprehensive and detailed information on EU Member State’s national climate change adaptation planning and strategies, and implemented and planned actions to facilitate adaptation to climate change is available on the Climate-ADAPT.

Taking Nature-based Solutions up the policy ladder - from research to policy action, a knowledge brief
The knowledge brief, prepared by the EU funded NetworkNature project, aims to disentangle the complexities associated with the integration of research and policy with respect to Nature-based Solutions (NbS). The brief provides an overview of the NbS knowledge gaps regarding climate adaptation and mitigation measures in restoring ecosystems. This can support policy makers in better understanding the research needs which can strengthen the implementation of NbS.
