Open call launched for regions and communities on climate risk assessment
The EU funded CLIMAAX (Climate risk and vulnerability assessment framework and toolbox) project has launched the first Open Call for regions and communities that will implement the CLIMAAX methodological framework (based on the framework of the EU Mission on Climate Adaptation) and the supporting Climate Risk Assessment Toolbox, to carry out their regional and local multi-risk assessments. Deadline for submission is 8 March 2024.

Call for feedback on LIFE programme for mid-term evaluation
The European Commission will carry out a mid-term evaluation of the LIFE programme for the environment and climate action (period 2021-2024) to improve the implementation and help inform the proposal for the subsequent programme. Feedback period: 1 August 2023 - 15 September 2023.

Call for collaborative research actions on climate and cultural heritage
The Belmont Forum is an initiative of the global scientific community including European scientific organisations to support international transdisciplinary research for understanding, mitigating, and adapting to global environmental change. A new call aims to support transdisciplinary and convergent research approaches on cultural heritage and climate change, to foster collaboration among the research community across several regions, and to contribute to knowledge advances and policy change at the global level. One of the call themes is cultural heritage as a resource for climate mitigation and adaptation.

Call for applications for Mediterranean Climate Change Adaptation Awards
The third edition of this competition was launched in the frame of the 5th Anniversary of the Paris Climate Agreement. It is aimed at public stakeholders, members of the private sector and NGOs which are taking action and developing solutions to adapt the Mediterranean regions to the changing climate. Applications closing date: 15 April 2021.

New LIFE climate action projects: applicants seek nearly €500 million in EU funding
In response to the EU LIFE programme’s 2020 call for climate action projects, the European Commission has received 258 new proposals. This represents a 55% rise on last year’s figures. It also shows a growing commitment to tackle and adapt to climate change. Applicants come from all Member States and the proposed projects have an estimated total cost of approximately €978 million.

The H2020 BRIGAID project's final call for innovations on climate adaptation and disaster resilience is open. Innovators are welcome to submit ideas on how to adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate-driven disasters related to droughts, floods and extreme weather events before 15 August 2018.

LIFE launches 2018 call for action grants
The EU’s LIFE programme has launched its 2018 call for proposals, supporting projects that protect the environment and tackle the impacts of climate change. The total budget for project action grants in this year's call is 397 million €. Of this, 80 million € is foreseen for the sub-programme for Climate Action.

Call for applications for selection of members of the technical expert group on sustainable finance
The European Commission has published a call for applications with a view to selecting members for a technical expert group on sustainable finance. The group will assist the Commission in the development of an EU taxonomy of climate change mitigation and climate change adaptation. The call is open until 16 April 2018.
