ETC Technical paper released about assessment frameworks of NbS for climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction

Nature-based solutions (NbS) play an increasing role in both adaptation and disaster risk management. This is also recognized within several global and European agreements and policies. The technical report, published by the European Topic Centre on Climate Change Adaptation, provides a concise overview of available NbS assessment approaches in the context of adaptation to climate change and disaster risk reduction. It is based on information from literature and selected European cases.

European State of the Climate 2017

The Copernicus Services on Climate Change and Atmosphere Monitoring have presented the European State of the Climate 2017, covering two main themes: the Climate in 2017 (annual and seasonal climate of last year in comparison with the 1981-2010 climate reference period) and the Headline Climate Indicators (long-term key indicators for global and regional climate change).
The report was presented on 10 April 2018 at the European Parliament.

UNEP launched the 2020 Adaptation Gap Report

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) launched the 5th edition of the Adaptation Gap Report in an online press event in January 2021. The aim of the report is to inform national and international efforts to advance adaptation, but finds in the 2020 edition that huge gaps remain, particularly in finance for developing countries and bringing adaptation projects to the stage.
