Policy Paper: Climate change and the European water dimension - Enhancing resilience
This policy paper is the outcome of the conference “Climate change and the European water dimension – Enhancing resilience” and provides recommendations for the European Commission and EU Member States on how to increase water-related climate resilience and initiate the transformational change required to ensure resilience in the future.

PLACARD project finished: more coherence between climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction
Learning to deal with extremes: climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction communities can share experiences and knowledge for better collaboration and coherence. That is what the PLACARD platform did in the past years. Being confronted with the COVID-19 extreme, the project succeeded in adapting our final conference to an online version. The materials are accessible on the website and can further play a role in on-going dialogues.

Workshop report on tackling biodiversity and the climate crises together
The IPBES-IPCC co-sponsored workshop report is the product of a four-day virtual workshop, held in December 2020, between experts to examine the synergies and trade-offs between biodiversity protection and climate change mitigation and adaptation.

LIFE platform meeting: Boosting awareness and engagement on climate action
In October 2021, the EU LIFE Programme held a special online platform meeting to encourage the European Climate Pact’s implementation. LIFE climate action projects, also covering adaptation to climate change, have a lot in common with the European Climate Pact’s objectives. LIFE projects, NGOs, and other stakeholders from across Europe united to discuss how best to support the European Climate Pact.

European Ocean Days held: Where next for Europe’s Seas?
The EU Ocean Days (covering the EU Mission Ocean and Waters) were held in Brussels on 4 till 8 March 2024. Twenty-one EU-funded projects and initiatives took part in the poster exhibition on 6 March during the event “Where next for Europe’s Seas”. The projects showcased solutions to the major challenges faced by the ocean and the coastal areas. The themes range from marine litter and biodiversity, to aquaculture, tourism and renewable energies.

Outcomes of panel discussion on climate change
On 21 of September 2021 the Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development (MIO-ECSDE) organized a high-level panel discussion on “Climate Change: the rapidly increasing challenge for the Mediterranean” providing an opportunity for actors to voice clear messages on how the Mediterranean countries are prepared to better address the looming challenge.

European Climate Change Adaptation Conference (ECCA 2021) - Rewatch the events
The 5th European Climate Change Adaptation Conference ‘Bringing adaptation solutions to life’, was held online. The theme of the conference was inspiring climate adaptation action today for a resilient future. A series of nine webinars was organised from 25 May to 10 June, in the run-up to a high-level event on 22 June.
