DRMKC Risk data hub
Description
RiskData Hub, provided by the Joint Research Centre (JRC), adopts the comprehensive administrative frameworks and policies (Union Civil Protection Mechanism, Sendai Framework for DRR), data sharing initiatives (OpenDRI) and spatial data infrastructures (INSPIRE) with the purpose of setting the bases for knowledge for Disaster Risk Managment (DRM) at local, national, regional and EU-wide level.
The DRMKC Risk Data Hub proposes a way to facilitate the link between practice and policy by creating a collaborative network for discovering data, actions, and practices for DRM.
The Risk Data Hub is developed as a decision support system that integrates spatial data along with statistical analysis. This helps decision makers have an indication for time and spatial coverage of economic damages and human losses across Europe from hazardous events, upon which consistent decisions can be made. Offering access to data, methodology and implementation showcase, the DRMKC Risk Data addresses the needs at national level regarding disaster risk management related actions (e.g. national risk assessment, loss data collection, Sendai indicators reporting, and Solidarity Fund request) improving risk management capabilities.
