Description

This report summarizes presentations and discussions from the Workshop on the Assessment of Forest Fire Risks and Innovative Strategies for Fire Prevention (held on 4-6 May 2010 in Rhodes Island, Greece). The objectives of the workshop were to review the current national forest fire prevention systems in European Countries, to identify innovative strategies, best available practices and possible policy instruments, and to develop policy conclusions and recommendations in relation to forest fire prevention in Europe. This was carried out with a view to building upon the existing knowledge and promoting the outcomes at a policy level.
