Objective of the funding programme

In the programming period 2021-2027, the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) supports the sustainable growth and development of the fisheries and aquaculture sectors in coastal and inland communities, in line with the objectives of the European Green Deal and the UN Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Life Below Water). It promotes the conservation of marine resources, the adoption of innovative techniques, and economic resilience, providing funding for both climate adaptation and marine environmental protection projects.
