See all EU institutions and bodiesThe European Commission has published a new brochure showcasing a series of innovative projects under two pivotal EU Missions: Adaptation to Climate Change and Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities.
Mission Cities is dedicated to transforming urban landscapes into smart, sustainable environments. It involves local authorities, citizens, businesses, investors as well as regional and national authorities to deliver 100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030
Meanwhile, Mission Climate Adaptation focuses on supporting EU regions, cities and local authorities in their efforts to build resilience against the impacts of climate change. This Mission’s objective is to accompany at least 150 European regions and communities towards climate resilience by 2030.
The brochure highlights several projects where these Missions intersect, demonstrating how integrated approaches can lead to more effective and sustainable outcomes. The projects highlighted under the Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change range from using the most advanced IT solutions to assess and monitor climate risks and impacts to leveraging nature in building green and sustainable solutions to mitigate climate impacts, showcasing the breadth and depth of our collective response.
As cities across Europe continue to face unprecedented environmental challenges, this brochure serves as a vital resource and inspiration for policymakers, urban planners, and communities. It is a call to action for all stakeholders to embrace collaborative efforts and ensure a sustainable and resilient future for all.
