Global temperature rise of 2°C doubles the population exposed to multiple climate risks compared to a 1.5°C rise

Research identifying climate vulnerability hotspots has found that the number of people affected by multiple climate change risks could double if the global temperature rises by 2 degrees C, compared to a rise of 1.5 degrees C.

LIFE launches 2018 call for action grants

The EU’s LIFE programme has launched its 2018 call for proposals, supporting projects that protect the environment and tackle the impacts of climate change. The total budget for project action grants in this year's call is 397 million €. Of this, 80 million € is foreseen for the sub-programme for Climate Action.

European State of the Climate 2017

The Copernicus Services on Climate Change and Atmosphere Monitoring have presented the European State of the Climate 2017, covering two main themes: the Climate in 2017 (annual and seasonal climate of last year in comparison with the 1981-2010 climate reference period) and the Headline Climate Indicators (long-term key indicators for global and regional climate change). The report was presented on 10 April 2018 at the European Parliament.
