  • High-level synthesis report of latest climate science information released

    The Science Advisory Group to UN Climate Action Summit 2019 have convened the report 'United in Science' to assemble the key scientific findings of recent work undertaken by major partner organizations in the domain of global climate change research, including the World Meteorological Organization, UN Environment, Global Carbon Project, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Future Earth, Earth League and the Global Framework for Climate Services.

  • A new Climate Adaptation Game

    The Climate Adaptation Game, released by the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, aims to develop better understanding for the effects of climate change, and how to meet the challenges it brings. The game can be used in education for sustainable development, or in various contexts within climate change adaptation.

  • MedECC released a preliminary assessment of risk associated to climate and environmental changes in the Mediterranean region

    This assessment has been undertaken by the network of Mediterranean Experts on Climate and Environmental Change (MedECC) supported by the Union for the Mediterranean and Plan Bleu (UN Environment/MAP Regional Activity Center). This preliminary report also includes results of discussions among MedECC scientists during workshops and meetings, which have been taken place since 2016.

  • Assessment of climate change impacts on snowmelt and streamflows of mountain region in eastern Turkey

    The Turkish Climate Changes Impact on Water Resources Project evaluates the alterations in snow melt and stream flows of the mountain region in eastern Turkey under the selected climate change scenarios throughout the 21st century. The project, characterizing the snow cover of the region for the last 40 years and hydrologic studies of future projections for snow accumulations, snow melt periods and runoffs, has been completed.

  • Reports launched on how Disaster Risk Reduction works with Climate Change Adaptation in the Baltic Sea Region

    On the 2020 International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (13 October 2019), two reports from the CASCADE project were launched showing the state of play of the work with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation on the local level, in the countries in the Baltic Sea Region.

    The Pyrenean Climate Change Observatory (OPCC) has developed this geoportal for providing the general public with access to crucial data in the Pyrenees. Citizens can discover the impacts of climate change on their territory, based on various indicators such as anomalies in minimum and maximum temperatures, rainfall and rates of innovation.

  • Portuguese National Adaptation Plan for Climate Change (2019-2030) adopted

    The first Portuguese National Adaptation Plan (NAP) for Climate Change (P-3AC) was adopted by the Portuguese Government in August 2019, aiming at implementation of measures foreseen in the National Adaptation Strategy. The NAP elects eight concrete lines of action of direct intervention in the territory and infrastructures, and an additional cross-cutting line of action for support tools and research.
