Summary of the strategy/plan
This Sustainable Energy Action Plan contains information about the political and organizational context of the Plan, the Baseline Emission Inventory, and the actions that San Benedetto del Tronto Municipality will implement by 2020, as well as information on the achievement of the CO2 emissions reduction target. Adaptation is not the focus of this document.

Planned adaptation actions

In the future San Benedetto del Tronto would like to update its SEAP to include a plan for adaptation. Currently the city is involved in developing a "LIFE Adaptation" project aimed at adapting the coastal and marine ecosystems (the city manages a protected coastal area) with particular regard to the protection of habitats and cultural heritage against sea storms and coastal erosion.

Restoration of Senti Coastal Wetland (Life project Re.S.C.We.)
This project involved the restoration of a priority habitat in order to increase the resilience of the natural coastal systems in the face of climate change. This project confronts the impacts climate change has on biodiversity and coastal areas and has facilitated habitat restoration, awareness raising, and the protection of biodiversity.
