Relative Sea Level Rise

The Relative Sea Level Rise index is relevant to coastal management. This Index is part of the relative Sea Level type of the Coastal category of the classification

Snowfall Amount

The Snowfall Amount is relevant to the tourism and water sectors. This Index is part of the Snow and Land Ice Hazard type of the Snow and Ice category of the classification

River Flood

The River Flood index is relevant to hydrological applications, transport, and disaster risk management. This Index is based on 50-year flood recurrence values based on maximum river discharge values for the 50-year return period and is part of the River flood type of the Wet and Dry category of the classification

High Fire Danger Days

The High Fire Danger Days index is relevant to Forestry but can also indirectly affect others such as tourism, transport and energy. This Index is based on the Fire Weather Index (FWI) and is part of the Wildfire type of the Wet and Dry category of the classification

Fire Weather Index

The Fire Weather Index (FWI) is relevant to forestry, local planning and disaster risk management. This Index is part of the Drought Hazard type of the Wet and Dry category of the classification

Maximum temperature

The Maximum Temperature Index is relevant to human health, agriculture and biodiversity. It indicates the temperature of the coldest day of a period, typically of the year, but also over a particular season or month

Total Precipitation

Precipitation is an essential climate variable making the Total Precipitation a fundamental index for following climate variability and change. This Index is the only one in the Total precipitation Hazard type of the Wet and Dry category of the classification

River discharge

The River Discharge index is relevant to hydrological applications, transport, and disaster risk management. This Index is based on daily river discharge values and is part of the River flood type of the Wet and Dry category of the classification

Extreme Sea Level

The Extreme Sea Level index is relevant to coastal management. This Index is part of the Coastal flooding of the Coastal category of the classification

Tiger Mosquito Climatic Suitability

The Tiger Mosquito Climatic Suitability index is relevant to human health. The tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) is an invasive species from south-east Asia favoured by a warmer climate and represents a serious threat as it transmits vector-borne diseases such as dengue and chikungunya

Climatological Heatwave Days

The Climatological Heatwave Days index is relevant to human health, agriculture, energy, wildfire and infrastructure. This Index is part of the Extreme Heat Hazard type of the Heat and Cold category of the classification

Apparent Temperature Heatwave Days

The Apparent Temperature Heatwave Days index is relevant to human health. This Index is part of the Extreme Heat Hazard type of the Heat and Cold category of the classification

Frost Days

The Frost Days Index is relevant to agriculture. This Index is part of the Cold spell and frost Hazard type of the Heat and Cold category of the classification

Tropical Nights

The Tropical Nights index is relevant to human health. This index is based on daily minimum temperature and is part of the Extreme Heat Hazard type of the Heat and Cold category of the classification

Aridity Actual

The Aridity Actual index is relevant to biodiversity, agriculture, forest and water management. This Index is based on daily precipitation and evapotranspiration and is part of the Aridity Hazard type of the Wet and Dry category of the classification

Tiger Mosquito Climatic Season Length

The Tiger Mosquito Climatic Season Length index is relevant to human health. The tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) is an invasive species from south-east Asia favoured by a warmer climate and represents a serious threat as it transmits vector-borne diseases such as dengue and chikungunya

Minimum temperature

The Minimum Temperature Index is relevant to human health, agriculture and biodiversity. It indicates the temperature of the coldest day of a period, typically of the year, but also over a particular season or month

Mean Temperature

Temperature is an essential climate variable making the Mean Temperature a fundamental index for following climate variability and change. This Index is the main one in the Mean temperature Hazard type of the Heat and Cold category of the classification

Maximum Consecutive Five-Day Precipitation

The Maximum Consecutive Five-Day Precipitation index is relevant to agriculture, water management, transport and the urban sector. This Index is based on daily precipitation and is part of the Extreme Precipitation Hazard type of the Wet and Dry category of the classification

High UTCI Days

The Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) days index is relevant to human health. This Index is part of the Extreme Heat Hazard type of the Heat and Cold category of the classification

Growing Degree Days

The Growing Degree Days index is relevant to agriculture. This Index is part of the Mean temperature Hazard type of the Heat and Cold category of the classification

Extreme Precipitation Days

The Extreme Precipitation Days index is relevant to agriculture, water management, transport and the urban sector. This Index is based on daily precipitation and is part of the Extreme Precipitation Hazard type of the Wet and Dry category of the classification

Cooling Degree Days

The Cooling Degree Days index is relevant to energy. This Index is part of the Mean temperature Hazard type of the Heat and Cold category of the classification

Heating Degree Days

The Heating Degree Days index is relevant to energy. This Index is part of the Mean temperature Hazard type of the Heat and Cold category of the classification
