The WHO Global Programme on Climate Change & Health (2016)

Description

Both, enhancing scientific evidence and implementing the health response are key goals of the WHO Global Programme on Climate Change & Health.

As the WHO puts it, “Evidence on climate and health [are] poorly integrated into policy, practice and monitoring”. Some priority outputs 2016–2017 of the programme are, thus:

  • country profiles for over 40 countries
  • convention of an international workgroup on CC and health economics
  • a toolkit to support climate resilient health systems and health-promoting mitigation policies
