Project

Preventing flooding RIsks by Making resilient communitiES (LIFE PRIMES)

Description:

"Life Primes" aims to strengthen surveillance systems in the three partner regions of North-Central Italy (Emilia-Romagna, Marche and Abruzzo) through the development of homogeneous and interregional information systems and procedures, the definition of risk scenarios and the realization of a shared web space with local communities. The project's aim is to reduce the damage caused to the territory and the population by events such as river and marine-coastal floods, whose frequency of occurrence is already increased and will continue to increase due to climate change.

The project objetives are:

  1. Definition of shared risk scenarios and homogenization of the alert systems;
  2. Creation of a shared web platform aiming at a more effective risk management;
  3. Risk information and spreading of appropriate self-protection practices;
  4. Implementation of adaptation civic plan (CAAP) to be integrated into the municipal civil protection plans.
