Adaptation Gap Report 2018

Description

The 2018 report focuses, in its first part, on existing gaps in a number of areas, which are of relevance to take stock and assess adaptation progress. These are e.g. the enabling environment such as policies and laws, key development aspects of adaptive capacities and cost as well as financing needs for adaptation.

The report's second part addresses adaptation gaps in the health sector. This part is based on available scientific evidence on climate impacts and health outcomes and provides an overview of the global adaptation gap in the field of health. This is followed by a specific focus on three key areas of climate-related health risks, namely heat and extreme events, climate-sensitive infectious diseases, and food and nutritional security.
