Climate adaptation – Aligning water and energy development perspectives
Description
Energy and water systems are linked in a dynamic way. As climate change is affecting the supply and quality of both, adaptation must become an integral part of thinking and acting when working on water and energy issues. In this report, the relationship between water, energy and climate change is clarified, providing the reader with perspectives on how water and energy systems can be developed in a sustainable way.
The report first provides an analysis of the effects of climate change on water and energy, and shows that there are many opportunities for fuel-switching and financing adaptation strategies. The second part of the report is about issues that investors and policy-makers should take into consideration when designing their future water and energy strategies. The third part is about policy challenges to support the implementation of actions.
