Guidelines on best practice to limit, mitigate and compensate soil sealing

Description

This report is a staff working document of the European Commission to develop guidelines on soil sealing best practices. The aim of the document is to provide information on the magnitude of soil sealing in the EU, its impacts and examples of best practices. One of the ways to reduce soil sealing is by green infrastructure, which is a valuable solution for climate adaptation. Soil sealing increases the vulnerability of areas towards climate change, resulting in increased flood risk.
