After the worst-ever year in 2019, 2020 was another year in which fires burnt large areas of natural land in Europe. Despite the increased level of preparedness in EU countries, about 340,000 hectares (ha) burnt in the EU in 2020. The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission presented the 21th edition of its Annual Report on Forest Fires in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, covering 2020.No publisherEuropean Forest Fire Information SystemNatura 2000Climate change2021/10/29 10:10:00 GMT+1News ItemRelazione del Centro comune di ricerca sugli incendi boschivi: gli effetti dei cambiamenti climatici sono sempre più evidenti

The European Court of Auditors (ECA) has published the special report 20/2021 “EU funding for biodiversity and climate change in EU forests: positive but limited results”. Although forest cover in the EU has grown in the past 30 years, the condition of those forests is deteriorating. Sustainable management practices are key to maintaining biodiversity and addressing climate change adaptation and mitigation in forests, and the ECA has made recommendations to the Commission to use its legal options to improve the forest conditions in the EU.No publisherEU forestsClimate changeBiodiversity2021/10/04 09:20:00 GMT+1News ItemRelazione speciale 21/2021: Finanziamenti dell'UE per la biodiversità e i cambiamenti climatici nelle foreste dell'UE: risultati positivi ma limitati

„Unijne finansowanie różnorodności biologicznej i zmiany klimatu w lasach UE – pozytywne, ale ograniczone rezultaty”. Chociaż w ciągu ostatnich 30 lat powierzchnia lasów w UE wzrosła, stan tych lasów pogarsza się. Praktyki zrównoważonej gospodarki mają kluczowe znaczenie dla zachowania różnorodności biologicznej i uwzględnienia kwestii przystosowania się do zmiany klimatu i łagodzenia jej skutków w lasach, a Europejski Trybunał Obrachunkowy sformułował zalecenia dla Komisji dotyczące wykorzystania jej opcji prawnych w celu poprawy warunków leśnych w UE.No publisherEU forestsClimate changeBiodiversity2021/10/04 09:20:00 GMT+1News Item
