The new report "Working with Nature-Based Solutions: Synthesis and mapping of status in the Nordics" provides an overview of the status of Nature-based Solutions, including research, political frameworks, challenges and examples of implemented projects in the Nordics. The report was funded under the Nordic Council of Ministers' research programme running from 2021-24. The progamme encourages the Nordic countries to work together and enhance their knowledge base on nature-based solutions, restoration, climate mitigation and blue/green infrastructure.

ADAPT: Nature-based solutions for resilient societies in the Western Balkans

The ADAPT project is a three-year initiative, started in 2019, to increase ecosystem and community resilience to climate change and disaster risks by applying Nature-based solutions in the Western Balkan countries. It provides opportunities to analyze national ecosystem management and biodiversity policy from a climate change perspective, and adaptation indicators.

REGREEN accelerates transition towards green, healthy and equitable cities

The 4-year Horizon 2020 project, REGREEN, was launched in September 2019. The project focuses on present and near-future challenges that cities are faced with, such as climate change impacts (flooding, heat islands), air pollution, and biodiversity decline, and how Nature-based Solutions can address these challenges in new ways.
