Buffer strips and cover crops

Buffer strips are vegetated areas consisting of herbaceous bands placed at the margins of cultivated fields. They limit soil erosion, solid transport in the canals, outflow of pollutants from the land to the water bodies, and to improve water quality and the ecological status of lake ecosystems and surrounding areas, with a consequent increase in the resilience of the territory.
