Technical Assistance Defined

MIP4Adapt’s Technical Assistance provides regional and local authorities that are Charter Signatories with:

Tailored help to move from risk assessment to the development of adaptation pathways and fund and implement climate adaptation solutions.
Tailored help with identifying appropriate climate adaptation demonstration projects, accessing relevant funding, and financing.
Support with stimulating citizens' and stakeholders' mobilisation and engagement in establishing transformative pathways towards climate resilience.
Support to design a Community Level Event related to the climate adaptation process.

Who can apply?

Technical Assistance is exclusively available for Charter Signatories. If you meet the eligibility criteria below, apply now!

Eligibility Criteria	Description
Charter Signatory	Your regional or local authority or community must be a Charter Signatory.
Member of the Community of Practice	You should be a registered member of the Mission’s Community of Practice, as an official representative of your regional or local authority, or community.
More than 20,000 inhabitants	A new threshold of 20,000 inhabitants has been approved. If you have a population of less than 20,000 inhabitants, you are encouraged to cluster and submit a joint application with another regional or local authority or community. This criterion aims to maximise the number of citizens benefitting from the Technical Assistance.
Completed Climate Vulnerability and Risk Assessment	Your regional or local authority or community should have already developed a suitable assessment of its climate vulnerabilities and risks. This is needed to inform the development of an adaptation pathway or plan.

How and when can I apply?

If you have reviewed the above criteria and are eligible, complete the Technical Assistance Application Form by logging into the online Community of Practice with your unique username and password..

The application call opened in April 2023, and applications are welcome anytime. There will be periodic cut-offs to review the applications, with the one scheduled for 31st March 2024. We recommend that you apply as early as possible to allow for more flexibility in the delivery of support.
