Objective of the funding programme

The Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL) aims to enhance the EU's digital capacities and skills by supporting projects in key areas critical to its digital transformation, including supercomputing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data infrastructure, and data governance and processing. DIGITAL does not directly target climate change adaptation actions, but it can support initiatives that indirectly contribute to climate resilience. For example, it can finance digital technologies like AI and big data for climate modelling, or cybersecurity efforts to protect the digital systems that underpin climate adaptation strategies, ensuring the security of critical services.
