Objective of the funding programme

Extreme weather events—such as prolonged droughts, flooding, heavy rainfall, late frost, storms, or hail—can cause significant and lasting damage on agriculture and forestry in Germany within a short period. To address this, a directive has been adopted to regulate the compensation of financial losses resulting from natural disasters or adverse weather conditions deemed equivalent to natural disasters.
