Objective of the funding programme

The programme aims to support the implementation of Romania’s integrated national energy and climate plans, as assessed by the European Commission under Regulation (EU) 2018/1999 on the Governance of the Energy Union and Climate Action. The assessment focused on the ambition and coherence of the objectives, targets, and measures designed to meet EU-wide 2030 goals, particularly in the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and electricity grid interconnectivity. The programme also plays a key role in supporting climate adaptation initiatives by promoting clean energy, enhancing infrastructure resilience, and fostering sustainable development.
