Interreg Central Europe envisions a united region where countries work together to become smarter, greener, and better connected. Rooted in shared challenges and a common identity shaped by a history of division along the former Iron Curtain, the programme fosters a culture of trustful cooperation that transcends administrative boundaries.
Within this cooperation, activities include the development and implementation of joint strategies, action plans, tools, training, pilot actions, and related solutions. These initiatives strengthen resilience to climate change by promoting adaptation measures, climate-resilient landscapes and urban planning, and preparedness for extreme weather events such as floods, landslides, heatwaves, droughts, and fires. The programme also supports actions that enhance risk awareness, prevention, and management, while addressing the socio-economic and health impacts of climate change.
