KlimaWildnis supports the development of smaller wilderness areas. Both large wilderness regions and smaller areas that allow for self-dynamic natural development can play a vital role in promoting natural climate protection and enhancing climate adaptation.

Type of funding
Funding rate (percentage of covered costs)
Up to 95% co-financing rate —and in some cases up to 100%—for the purchase of wilderness areas. Additionally, up to 90% of personnel and direct costs can be covered for a KlimaWildnis ambassador.
