Objective of the funding programme

The Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM) aims to strengthen cooperation and coordination inside and outside the EU in the field of civil protection, with a focus on improving prevention, preparedness, and response to disasters. In the context of climate change, the UCPM also co-finances projects that support climate adaptation efforts, enhancing resilience to climate-related risks such as flooding, wildfires, and extreme weather events.
