The Climate Change Fund of Slovenia is the umbrella funding mechanism aimed at addressing climate change, sourced from the auctioning of EU ETS system allowances. It prioritises both mitigation and adaptation measures. Up to €270 million is dedicated to climate adaptation, focusing on flood risk reduction, the conservation of biodiversity and ecosystems, and mitigation and adaptation actions in forests and agriculture. These measures are implemented through various ministries and governmental institutions, including the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy, the Eco Fund, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport, the Slovenian Infrastructure Agency, various universities and faculties, and the Employment Service of Slovenia, among others.
