Objective of the funding programme

The Interreg Euro-MED Programme is a European territorial cooperation initiative at transnational level. Its general objective lies in the concept of “cooperation,” and is further defined by three key descriptors: territorial, European, and transnational. The programme's mission is to identify, transfer, and apply solutions to priority challenges in the fields of innovation, economy, and environment (described below). This is achieved through multicultural and multi-stakeholder partnerships—both public and private—within projects that address the specific needs of Mediterranean territories and populations.

Sub-programmes:

  • SO 1.iv: Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and the uptake of advanced technologies

  • SO 2.iv: Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention and resilience, taking into account ecosystem-based approaches

  • SO 2.vi: Promoting the transition to a circular and resource-efficient economy

  • SO 2.vii: Enhancing the protection and preservation of nature, biodiversity, and green infrastructure—including in urban areas—and reducing all forms of pollution

  • ISO 1.vi: Other actions to support better cooperation governance
