Objective of the funding programme

The Interreg Danube Region Programme (DRP) is a transnational funding initiative co-financed by the European Union. It supports the advancement of competitiveness and sustainable development across the Danube Region through innovation, the green transition, social inclusion, and improved regional governance. DRP promotes economic, social, and territorial cohesion throughout the region, working to bridge gaps between urban and rural areas, and address disparities in economic development, infrastructure, and social services. By promoting cross-border cooperation, the programme enhances the region’s ability to address common challenges, including climate change and environmental degradation. This is particularly reflected in Priority 2: A Greener, Low-Carbon Danube Region, which focuses on building a more sustainable and resilient region.
