The Interreg South Baltic Programme 2021–2027 marks a new phase of multilateral cross-border cooperation among the coastal regions of Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Lithuania, and Poland. The programme supports actions that promote economic, environmental, and social development, the preservation of natural and cultural heritage, and enhanced cooperation between public institutions, civil society actors, and businesses.
Its overarching goal is to improve the quality of life for residents by fostering blue and green growth in the region. In particular, Priority 2: Sustainable South Baltic – Promoting Sustainable Development and the Blue and Green Economy plays a central role in addressing climate change adaptation. It supports the transition to green energy, promotes sustainable water use, and fosters closed-loop, resource-efficient development—all of which contribute to building resilient communities and ecosystems in the face of climate-related challenges.
