This programme supports actions aimed at climate change adaptation and disaster prevention in urban areas. Key areas of support include:
Implementation of sustainable stormwater management systems, including green, green-blue infrastructure, and nature-based solutions
Development of climate change adaptation plans
Support for small water retention measures
Restoration of transformed watercourses and areas dependent on water resources
Construction, reconstruction, or renovation of water facilities and accompanying infrastructure to mitigate the effects of floods and droughts
Development of environmental forecasting and warning systems
Expansion of rescue and emergency systems, particularly for the prevention, mitigation, and response to forest fire-related threats
Enhancement of environmental monitoring systems, including:
Electromagnetic field monitoring
Water monitoring
Sea shore monitoring
Soil and earth monitoring
Public education on climate change, adaptation strategies, and water resource protection
