The Fisheries Programme focuses on the freshwater aquaculture sector and its main objective is to promote competitive and sustainable aquaculture, ensuring a high level of public health and creating higher added value for aquaculture products, as well as raising awareness of the aquaculture sector and improving data collection, which is also a key objective for the aquaculture sector as defined in the Green Deal and the European Commission's "Farm to Table" strategy.
