Developing high-quality climate plans is a key action for cities to address the increasing pressure and impacts of the climate crisis. A recent study reveals significant variability in the quality of these plans, with adaptation objectives often being too general or insufficiently ambitious. More attention is also needed in developing monitoring and evaluation, and including vulnerable groups in planning processes. Despite improvements observed over time, high-quality plans remain relatively rare, highlighting the need for stronger support to local governments.
