According to a European Environment Agency (EEA) briefing, rising temperatures due to climate change are increasing the risk of human exposure to mycotoxins. Those are naturally occurring toxins produced by fungi found in certain foods, feed and crops and can cause harm to human health. Preventing the rise of contamination requires joined-up action on European and national levels, on research, policies and practice to effectively reduce risks.
