Ireland’s National Climate Change Risk Assessment (NCCRA) 2025 provides a comprehensive overview of the country’s most pressing climate-related risks and emerging opportunities. Developed to support national adaptation planning, the assessment identifies 115 climate risks, of which 43 are considered significant across sectors such as health, infrastructure, biodiversity, and the economy. It also highlights five potential opportunities arising from projected changes in climate conditions. The NCCRA underscores the increasing threats posed by flooding, heatwaves, drought, and coastal erosion, and stresses the urgent need for coordinated action to build resilience and adapt to a changing climate.
