June 2019 was the warmest June on record both for Europe and the globe
Over most of Europe, the average temperature in June 2019 was higher than the 1981-2010 average for the month and it was particularly warm over parts of central and eastern Europe. Around the middle of the month temperature records were broken in eastern Europe. Western and central Europe experienced a short, but intense heatwave during the last week of the month.
