In April 2022, Santé publique France and the International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI) organised a day of discussions on health as a driver for action against climate change. The proceedings of this event are now available for consultation. They offer insight into the links between climate, biodiversity and health; learnings from action-oriented research; and health benefits associated with ambitious climate policies, which should encourage concrete action at local, national and European levels.

Publikując te ramy operacyjne dotyczące budowy odpornych na zmianę klimatu i niskoemisyjnych systemów opieki zdrowotnej, Światowa Organizacja Zdrowia (WHO) przedstawia wytyczne na temat tego, w jaki sposób sektor zdrowia może systematycznie i skutecznie reagować na wyzwania związane ze zmianą klimatu i przekształcać systemy opieki zdrowotnej. Celem jest zwiększenie odporności systemów opieki zdrowotnej na zmianę klimatu, zapewnienie bezpiecznej opieki w zmieniającym się klimacie oraz ochrona i poprawa zdrowia społeczności.

Con la publicación de este marco operativo para la creación de sistemas sanitarios resistentes al cambio climático y con bajas emisiones de carbono, la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) ofrece orientaciones sobre cómo el sector sanitario puede abordar sistemática y eficazmente los retos que plantea el cambio climático y transformar los sistemas sanitarios. Los objetivos son aumentar la resiliencia frente al cambio climático de los sistemas sanitarios, garantizar una asistencia segura en un clima cambiante y proteger y mejorar la salud de las comunidades.

Gli obiettivi sono aumentare la resilienza climatica dei sistemi sanitari, garantire un'assistenza sicura in un clima che cambia e proteggere e migliorare la salute delle comunità.

Mit der Veröffentlichung dieses operativen Rahmens für den Aufbau klimaresilienter und CO2-armer Gesundheitssysteme bietet die Weltgesundheitsorganisation (WHO) Leitlinien dazu, wie der Gesundheitssektor die Herausforderungen des Klimawandels systematisch und wirksam bewältigen und die Gesundheitssysteme verändern kann. Ziel ist es, die Klimaresilienz der Gesundheitssysteme zu erhöhen, eine sichere Versorgung in einem sich wandelnden Klima zu gewährleisten und die Gesundheit der Gemeinschaften zu schützen und zu verbessern.

Avec la publication de ce cadre opérationnel pour la mise en place de systèmes de santé résilients face au changement climatique et à faibles émissions de carbone, l’Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS) fournit des orientations sur la manière dont le secteur de la santé peut répondre de manière systématique et efficace aux défis posés par le changement climatique et transformer les systèmes de santé. L’objectif est d’accroître la résilience des systèmes de santé face au changement climatique, de garantir des soins sûrs dans un climat en mutation, ainsi que de protéger et d’améliorer la santé des communautés.

Global warming and the expansion of the built environment are expected to intensify the urban heat island (UHI) effect, and related adverse health impacts. A new study shows that an increasing tree coverage to 30% would lower temperatures by an average 0.4°C, avoiding about 1.8% of all summer deaths in European cities, and nearly 40% of deaths attributable to UHI effects.

This study provides useful quantification of future flood risk in Europe by integrating climate, socio-economic and private precaution scenarios, offering a detailed overview of risk drivers, trends and hotspots. This large-scale assessment is valuable for multi-scale risk-based flood adaptation planning by policymakers and states within Europe.

L’Europe est le continent qui se réchauffe le plus rapidement au monde, et les risques climatiques menacent la santé des populations, ainsi que plusieurs aspects contribuant au bien-être de la population, notamment son énergie et sa sécurité alimentaire, ses écosystèmes, ses infrastructures, ses ressources en eau et sa stabilité financière. Projekt EXHAUSTION ma na celu ilościowe określenie zmian w chorobach serca i płuc w Europie z powodu skrajnego zanieczyszczenia ciepła i powietrza oraz określenie strategii adaptacyjnych. Na podstawie ustaleń projektu EXHAUSTION uruchomił obecnie zalecenia polityczne, narzędzia i materiały wizualne w celu wspierania świadomości, polityki i odporności.

El proyecto EXHAUSTION ha tratado de cuantificar los cambios en las enfermedades cardíacas y pulmonares en Europa debido a la contaminación extrema del calor y del aire e identificar estrategias de adaptación. Sobre la base de los resultados del proyecto, EXHAUSTION ha lanzado recomendaciones de políticas, herramientas y material visual para apoyar la sensibilización, las políticas y la resiliencia.
