L'obiettivo del presente invito a presentare proposte di progetti è individuare, monitorare e quantificare gli impatti diretti e indiretti sulla salute umana, anche in contesti occupazionali, e i relativi fattori di rischio correlati ai cambiamenti climatici. I progetti dovrebbero contribuire, tra l'altro, all'Osservatorio europeo per il clima e la salute.

Air and noise pollution, the impacts of climate change such as heatwaves, and exposure to dangerous chemicals cause ill health in Europe and contribute to 13 % of deaths. An integrated approach to environment and health policies is needed to tackle environmental risks, protect the most vulnerable and fully realise the benefits that nature offers in support of health and well-being, according to the EEA.

The aim of this call for project proposals topic is to identify, monitor and quantify the direct and indirect impacts on human health, including in occupational settings, and related risk factors correlated to climate change. Projects are expected to contribute, inter alia to the European Climate and Health Observatory.

This information day aims to inform (potential) applicants to Horizon Europe funding about topics included in the Cluster 1 'Health' work programme of 2023.

In April 2022, Santé publique France and the International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI) organised a day of discussions on health as a driver for action against climate change. The proceedings of this event are now available for consultation. They offer insight into the links between climate, biodiversity and health; learnings from action-oriented research; and health benefits associated with ambitious climate policies, which should encourage concrete action at local, national and European levels.

Con la publicación de este marco operativo para la creación de sistemas sanitarios resistentes al cambio climático y con bajas emisiones de carbono, la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) ofrece orientaciones sobre cómo el sector sanitario puede abordar sistemática y eficazmente los retos que plantea el cambio climático y transformar los sistemas sanitarios. Los objetivos son aumentar la resiliencia frente al cambio climático de los sistemas sanitarios, garantizar una asistencia segura en un clima cambiante y proteger y mejorar la salud de las comunidades.
