Esta edición de la conferencia anual de la Semana Verde de la UE debatirá lo que es necesario para que la UE sea más resiliente al agua, tanto de hoy como de mañana. En los últimos años, los ciudadanos de distintas partes del continente se han enfrentado a un aumento de las catástrofes naturales, como sequías e inundaciones, con implicaciones para la salud y el bienestar. El objetivo es estimular una conversación a escala de la UE sobre el agua, el presente y el futuro de la UE, haciendo hincapié en fomentar la sensibilización y promover soluciones positivas y colaborativas.

Questa edizione della conferenza annuale della Settimana verde dell'UE discuterà di ciò che è necessario per rendere l'UE più resiliente alle risorse idriche, sia per oggi che per domani. Negli ultimi anni i cittadini di diverse parti del continente hanno dovuto far fronte a un aumento delle catastrofi naturali, come siccità e inondazioni, con implicazioni per la salute e il benessere. L'obiettivo è stimolare una conversazione a livello dell'UE sulle risorse idriche, presenti e future dell'UE, ponendo l'accento sulla sensibilizzazione e sulla promozione di soluzioni positive e collaborative.

In dieser jährlichen Konferenz der Grünen Woche der EU wird erörtert, was erforderlich ist, um die EU sowohl heute als auch morgen wasserresilienter zu machen. In den letzten Jahren waren die Bürgerinnen und Bürger in verschiedenen Teilen des Kontinents mit einer Zunahme von Naturkatastrophen wie Dürren und Überschwemmungen konfrontiert, die Auswirkungen auf die Gesundheit und das Wohlergehen hatten. IANPHI przeanalizował wpływ takich inicjatyw, jak plan działania IANPHI dotyczący działań w dziedzinie zdrowia i zmiany klimatu. Different crises, including the climate crisis, have consequences on national and global economies and on food security, with an effect on populations’ health and wellbeing, often exacerbating health inequalities. IANPHI has examined the impact with initiatives such as the IANPHI Roadmap for Action on Health and Climate Change. To address populations’ new health needs and support decision-making to protect human health, NPHIs have to go through a transformation, based on the lessons learned from the different crises.

The Horizon Europe-funded project CATALYSE seeks to provide new knowledge, data and tools to close the knowledge-to-action gap to accelerate climate change action and protect public health in Europe. El acto de lanzamiento del primer informe sobre el indicador de Lancet Countdown en Europa (publicado en la Salud Pública de Lancet en octubre de 2022) debatirá las últimas pruebas sobre cómo el cambio climático está socavando las bases de una buena salud, y detallará los beneficios para la salud de una respuesta rápida y sólida al cambio climático en Europa.

L'evento di lancio della prima relazione sugli indicatori del "Lancet Countdown in Europe" (pubblicato nel Lancet Public Health nell'ottobre 2022) discuterà degli ultimi dati sul modo in cui i cambiamenti climatici stanno compromettendo le fondamenta della buona salute, nonché dei benefici per la salute di una risposta rapida e solida ai cambiamenti climatici in Europa.

The European Climate and Health Observatory welcomes a new partner: IANPHI, the International Association of National Public Health Institutes. IANPHI is an international organization that aims at strengthening National Public Health Institutes. IANPHI’s strategic plan focuses on four key themes, among which addressing the interplay between climate change and health research.

Taking rapid and ambitious action to halt and reverse the climate crisis has the potential to bring many health benefits. In addition, the public health benefits resulting from ambitious mitigation efforts would far outweigh their cost. A World Health Organization (WHO) presentation will elaborate on health issues in climate decision-making processes.

El Observatorio Europeo del Clima y la Salud ofrece ahora más indicadores relacionados con el impacto en la salud de las enfermedades infecciosas sensibles al clima, el calor y el polen (desarrollado por Lancet Countdown Europe) y ha actualizado los indicadores existentes con datos recientes.

L'Osservatorio europeo sul clima e sulla salute offre ora un maggior numero di indicatori relativi all'impatto sulla salute delle malattie infettive, del calore e del polline sensibili al clima (sviluppato dal Lancet Countdown Europe) e ha aggiornato gli indicatori esistenti con dati recenti.

Das Europäische Observatorium für Klima und Gesundheit bietet nun mehr Indikatoren für die gesundheitlichen Auswirkungen klimasensibler Infektionskrankheiten, Wärme und Pollen (entwickelt von Lancet Countdown Europe) und hat bestehende Indikatoren anhand aktueller Daten aktualisiert.

L’Observatoire européen du climat et de la santé propose désormais davantage d’indicateurs liés aux incidences sur la santé des maladies infectieuses, de la chaleur et du pollen sensibles au changement climatique (mis au point par le Lancet Countdown Europe) et a mis à jour les indicateurs existants sur la base de données récentes.

Urgent decisions and actions are needed for climate change and biodiversity loss. The aim of the conference is to discuss the scientific challenges of transdisciplinary research in environmental and medical sciences and present solutions supporting public health and respecting planetary boundaries

This workshop will be organised into four sessions; two of them directly focused on climate change and health (Extreme temperatures and health & Weather/climate sensitive diseases). For each session, speakers from key European or international entities will set the scene before opening on a panel discussion about how to maximise use of Copernicus data for the benefit of public and private users in the health sector. The panels will also identify currently outstanding needs and requirements, which can inform the future development of the Copernicus programme.
