The Covenant of Mayors for climate and energy reporting guidelines

Description:

This guide is targeted at the Covenant of Mayors signatory cities in order to support understanding the Covenant reporting framework and to provide step-by-step guidance for the reporting process, complemented by practical recommendations and concrete examples. The data reported to the Covenant platform enables signatories to demonstrate the impact of their actions but also gives feedback on local actions to national, European and international policymakers. The guidelines are available in 21 European languages.

The guidelines are organized into three steps:

  • Step I is dedicated to guide signatories through the process of filling in the reporting templates for the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) and the monitoring template
  • Step II addresses the upload of documents
  • Step III is focused on the integrated checking system developed for the climate mitigation part of the template and official submission.
