Description:

The core objectives of ESPACE are:
* to develop a transnational approach to adaptation to climate change within spatial planning mechanisms which can be implemented by the partners
* to recommend a suitable approach at European, national, regional and local level
* Spatial Planning Policy Guidance on adaptation to climate change
* Adoption of the policy guidance by the ESPACE partnership
* Recommendations towards the integration of the policy guidance into spatial planning systems from local to European levels.

Partners

A transnational group of 10 partners, spanning four North West European countries and bringing together representatives from all levels of civic society. They include, Hampshire County Council (Lead Partner), the Environment Agency, South East Climate Change Partnership, South East England Regional Assembly, Surrey County Council and West Sussex County Council from the UK, Regionaal Landschap Zenne, Zuun en Zoniën from Belgium, Waterschap Rivierenland and Ministerie van VROM from the Netherlands and the Bayerisches Landesamt für Umwelt from Germany.
