Adaptation in water and coastal areas in Puglia, Italy
Description
This report presents the results of the Pilot study 3 of the Orientgate (A network for the integration of climate knowledge into policy and planning) project. The pilot study 3 focused on providing tools and guidelines for local and regional authorities to assess vulnerabilities and risks posed by climate change and variability and related extreme events (with a focus on droughts) on domestic water supply, agriculture and coastal areas. The main approach was the use of integrated modelling applied to the study area. The aim was to support the improvement of planning for the integrated management of water resources and coastal zones, by providing scientific information, which is both sound and updated in regard to expected climate terrestrial and marine hazards, and consequent impacts
