Main results of the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report presented: Climate change widespread, rapid, and intensifying

The IPCC is currently producing its Sixth Assessment Report (AR6), which consists of contributions from the three IPCC Working Groups and a Synthesis Report. The Working Group I contribution was published, and the main results were presented in a press conference on 9 August 2021. This report will be a key contribution to the UNFCCC COP26, which is starting in less than three months.

The IPCC is currently producing its Sixth Assessment Report (AR6), comprising of contributions from its 
three Working Groups (WG):

  • WG I: the physical science basis,
  • WG II: impacts, adaptation and vulnerability,
  • WG III: mitigation

as well as a Synthesis Report. 

The Working Group I contribution was published on 9 August 2021. This report is accompanied by the IPCC WG I Interactive Atlas, which provides interactive access to a wide range of climate observations, climate projections and climatic impact drivers for all world regions. The other reports will be published in the course of 2022.
