This International Center for Climate Governance webinar will focus on the progress made in recent years on the topic of ecosystem-based approaches for disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA).
The theme of ECCA 2017 is ‘Our Climate Ready Future’. Its vision is that this conference will inspire and enable people to work together to discover and deliver positive climate adaptation solutions that can strengthen society, revitalise local economies and enhance the environment. The conference will bring together the people who will deliver action on the ground – from business, industry, NGOs, local government and communities – to share knowledge, ideas and experience with researchers and policymakers.
The conference theme is about challenges in weather and climate services for energy, and is intended for energy specialists, economists, scientists, and policymakers working at the thriving nexus of energy with weather and climate.
The conference theme is about serving the society with better weather and climate information. Aim is to harness the wealth of data to generate and communicate effectively tailored and timely information ensuring the highest quality support to users’ decision-making.
Consistent with the need for more cross-sectoral interactions among the various stakeholders, the aims of the conference are to present research findings, exchange information, discuss implementation in practice and disseminate experiences in the field of climate change adaptation with a specific focus on integrative approaches.
This RAMSES project final conference will explore the latest advances in research and practice addressing climate change in cities, including issues of risk management, economics of adaptation, infrastructure, planning, governance, and their possible trade-offs and synergies with mitigation and sustainability objectives.
