Aim:

The European Environment Agency (EEA) and the European Commission are pleased to invite you to the 16th Climate-ADAPT webinar. The webinar will inform about the role of Climate-ADAPT in supporting the new EU adaptation policies through introducing the new 2025-2027 Climate-ADAPT Strategy ‘Towards bringing the European Climate Adaptation Plan into action’. It will also briefly present the forthcoming 2025 edition of EEA ‘s new ‘Climate Impact and Preparedness Portal (CLIMP)’, accessible from Climate-ADAPT. It visualises regularly updated data of climate impacts at national and regional level in Europe. Lastly, the webinar will highlight how 59 cities and regions across Europe are progressing in governance, climate risk assessments, planning, and implementation of adaptation actions, based on findings from the 2024 adaptation reporting, submitted by Signatories of the EU Mission on Adaptation.

The target audience of the webinar are current and potential new users and information providers of Climate-ADAPT, i. e., governmental decision-makers and organisations supporting them in the development, implementation, and evaluation of climate change adaptation strategies, plans and actions at all governance levels in Europe. Beyond that, all other users are welcome to participate in the webinar.

Background:

The EU Adaptation Strategy states that Climate-ADAPT is a key reference for knowledge on adaptation and aims to make it the authoritative European platform for adaptation. To meet this ambition, Climate-ADAPT is since 2021 being significantly extended with new data and knowledge components such as the European Climate and Health Observatory and the EU Mission on adaptation portal. Information about recent developments can be found in the presentations of previous Climate-ADAPT webinars.
