The UK Marine Climate Change Impacts Partnership (MCCIP) is a partnership between scientists, government, governmental agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and industry. The primary aim of the MCCIP is to provide a co-ordinating framework, so as to be able to transfer high quality evidence on marine climate change impacts, and guidance on adaptation and related advice, to policy advisers and decision-makers.
MCCIP "Full Report Cards" and "Special Topic Report Cards" provide collated, impartial summaries of the scientific evidence on the impacts of climate change on the UK marine environment.
Information within the report cards is developed from the inputs of scientists, who generate peer-reviewed backing papers reviewing the latest evidence on marine and coastal topics. The Full MCCIP Report Cards provide one of the most important outputs of the MCCIP programme, synthesising understanding of marine climate change impacts across over 30 topics.Special Topic Report Cards provide more in-depth information on particular topics, such as marine biodiversity legislation, fish and fisheries and a 10 year update report card. The 2017 10-year Report Card summarises how understanding of marine climate change impacts has developed since the first MCCIP report card in 2006 and lessons for science to policy reporting.
