Description

The Finnish Adaptation Platform ‘Climateguide.fi’ became operational in 2011, with support received by the LIFE+ EU-funded project: 'Climate Change Community Response Portal' (Life07 INF/FIN/000152; CCCRP). The initial purpose of the platform was to provide research based climate change information that would be applicable at the local (municipal) level. However, the focus of the platform expanded soon after its launch to consider also the regional and national level. In its current version the portal provides information on climate change and its impacts, articles and other adaptation and mitigation relevant information, historical data and projections on rainfall and temperature, two map tools of climate change impacts, visualisations and case studies. Also the platform makes reference to sector-based adaptation programmes and the national adaptation policy. The main content is published in Finnish, while some key information is available also in English and Swedish.
